Pole Dance is slowly getting more main stream and is now appreciated as an intense form of athletic exercise!
A great way to develop all over body strength not just the arms and by using your own body weight its a great way to develop an even balanced body.
As a form of dance you get a chance to express yourself to music, a fantastic motivator. There are all the other elements of fitness there too not just strength but coordination, balance, flexibility and cardio vascular fitness. Similar to yoga, pole dancing and fitness also has the power to train the mind to make as happier more positive you with a new attitude to life.
Pole Dance: This works as a six week course of lessons where you will learn a full routine to a specific track, incorporating spins, dance, some floor work and combos for beginners, intermediate and additional options for advanced level. A fun class and a great workout.
Pole Tricks: To get the best out of this class we ask that you be able to confidently climb to the top of the pole and do an invert with relative ease. As the title suggests you will learn different pole dance tricks or moves and then combine into different combos working on technique and style.
Pole Circuits: This is an intense conditioning workout think bootcamp meets pole dancing you are gonna sweat, it may be painful but your are gonna get stronger, you are gonna burn body fat, you are gonna use muscles you never even knew you had – this is a challenging class but it gets results.
Pole Fitness: Developing strength and overall fitness on the pole. An intermediate class typically involves conditioning exercises, more advanced spins and sits and upside down tricks. We often put moves together into sequences to make a routine.
Pole Jam: This is a Freestyle class where you have time to perfect moves you’ve learnt in class. Normally a pole jam has no instruction but here at the funky monkey our teachers are always on hand to help in any way…., suggest, encourage
Spinning Pole: An added dimension now the pole spins which means you can spin even more! Here at the Funky Monkey we recommend a grounding on static pole first progressing to spinning pole after you’ve developed overall pole strength and fitness.
