I was never sporty at school and was generally picked last for team sports, but the one thing that kept me fit was (and is) riding horses. After leaving school I didn’t do much exercise at all. Over the years I tried all sorts of classes and gym work, but never found anything that really fitted me. I can be very competitive with myself and have learnt to love pushing my abilities and learning new skills. I joined Funky Monkeys at the end of 2011 taking one silks class a week after being introduced to Alice by a mutual friend. From there I have never looked back. I now take just about every class going and know the schedule better than the instructors! I believe in helping those who help me and have been extolling the virtues of the studio for a long time. Alice and her community she has created has done more for my confidence, my strength and my shrinking waistline and my outlook on life than anything I have done before. I am a much more positive person and love being a positive influence on those around me. Having been FMS’ biggest fan and talking to people about the different classes that are on offer and how each class compliments each other I was asked to help out with the twitter feed in the summer of 2015, helping to further promote the studio and helping to bring that community spirit out into Bath. As a keen photographer I also love taking my camera to the studio to capture moments for the other students and for social media. It is something that I love doing, and I look forward to sharing more via social media.
